Fokus Lyrik / Focus on Poetry

The City of Frankfurt am Main Hosts ‘Fokus Lyrik’ / Focus on Poetry, a Festival Congress on Contemporary Poetry, from 7 to 10 March 2019.

After ten years of ‘Lyrikboom‘, ‘Fokus Lyrik‘ is taking stock, offering the actors a forum for debate and networking for the first time. 126 participants, as well as numerous guests from all German-speaking countries, are taking part in the event. 18 podium discussions will address questions of the production, the funding and reception of poetry. The conversations with poets, representatives of publishing houses, universities, media, and funding bodies will offer a space for the development of ideas and concepts for the future. Our programme offers high-profile poetry readings and performances, curated by two of the most prominent figures in contemporary German-language poetry, Monika Rinck and Tristan Marquardt. Organized by the culture bureau of the city of Frankfurt and the German Academy for Language and Literature. ‘Fokus Lyrik’ is funded by the Federal Cultural Foundation.
